Where can I find a Marine Navigation Job? I have lots of experience 9yrs USN(Piloting Officer & LCAC Nav)?
I live near Jacksonville, Fl. and Have made several Cruises To different continents including South America, West & East Africa. Mederiterian Sea, and Persian Gulf. Panama Canal, Straits of Magellan, & the Suez Canal 4 times! I really love the Sea and would love to find another Job opportunity to Navigation another Vessel.
It would really help you if you have some merchant mariners papers. However, even if you don’t go hit the marine companies ( tug, crew boat, supply boat, ferry and even cruise lines) and start applying. Many times they will hire a vet with qualifications and let you get your papers while working. Also start looking on USAJOBS.Gov you may find a maritime job online including Sealift Command.
Good luck to you.

History of the Suez Canal: A Personal Narrative $33.79 In the early 1850s the French diplomat and engineer Ferdinand de Lesseps (1805 1894) revived earlier French plans to build a canal through the Isthmus of Suez, and, thanks to his good relations with the Viceroy of Egypt, won approval for the project in the face of British and Turkish opposition. This 1870 lecture reveals de Lesseps enchantment with the desert and its people, his determination to complete the canal, and his annoyance at British antagonism. By 1875, when this English translation by Sir Henry Wolff was published, the canal had been open for six years and the British position had shifted dramatically. The government bought Egypts shares in the Canal Company, and Wolff was chosen by Disraeli to speak in Parliament in support of the purchase. De Lesseps book remains an invaluable source on the canal, the politics of the major powers, and European attitudes towards the Middle East. Bridgewater Canal $106.74 The Bridgewater Canal is a canal in North West England that connects Runcorn, Manchester, and Leigh. It was commissioned by Francis Egerton, 3rd Duke of Bridgewater, to transport coal from his mines in Worsley to Manchester. It was opened in 1761 from Worsley to Manchester, and later extended from Manchester to Runcorn, and then from Worsley to Leigh. The canal is connected to the Rochdale Canal in Manchester, the Trent and Mersey Canal at Preston Brook and to the Leeds and Liverpool Canal at Leigh. It once connected with the River Mersey at Runcorn but has since been cut off by a slip road to the Silver Jubilee Bridge. Often considered to be the first true canal, it required the construction of an aqueduct to cross the River Irwell, one of the first of its kind. Its success helped inspire a period of intense canal building, known as canal mania. It later faced intense competition from the Liverpool and Manchester Railway and the Macclesfield Canal. Navigable throughout its history, it is one of the few canals in Britain not to have been nationalised, and remains privately owned. Pleasure craft now use the canal which forms part of the Cheshire Ring network of canals. Pocklington Canal $70.1 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The Pocklington Canal is a broad canal which runs for 9.5 miles (15.3 km) through nine locks from the Canal Head near Pocklington in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England, to the River Derwent which it joins near East Cottingwith. Most of it lies within a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest. The first proposals to build a canal linking the Humber Estuary date back as far as 1765. None of these were successful until 1812 when the Earl Fitzwilliam employed George Leather Junior to survey a proposed route. George Leather found that the initially proposed route was problematic but proposed an alternative route which was the one the canal eventually followed. The Pocklington Canal company was formed in 1814 and the canal gained its Act of parliament in 1815. Work started straight away and the canal was completed in 1818 at a cost of 32,695, a rare case of a canal not overrunning its cost estimate.
