Cost of sailing around the world?
I would like an estimate price of a boat, equipment and whatever else I will need.
I know I want a catamaran (for the stability and shallower waters capability)
Probably 23-35 feet (so it’s not too big for me to sail alone)
I won’t need a slip rental in a marina or anything, I intend to be out sailing the world the majority of my time.
I want to own the boat, not charter; this will be my entire life.
How much is a water-maker? Is it worth it?
I will probably want a new or relatively new boat (not unused, just not from like the 1980s or something)
But I’d like to know prices for both new and used boats
And overall approximately what is the equipment for serious long-term sailing going to cost (just the essentials, I don’t think I’ll get a refrigerator or water-maker right away possibly)
Also is there a way to have internet anywhere in the world? If so, what does that cost because as of right now, I intend to make money while out at sea over the internet.
I REFUSE to be a part of YOUR DELUSION. I can go to just about ANY MARINA in ANY PLACE in the world and find some MORON like YOU who “wants to sail around the world” AND YOU CAN’T EVEN SAIL A BOAT.
If you don’t know enough about the cost of CRUISING the you don’t know enough to SAIL AROUND THE WORLD..
According to a study done by an Agency in the Caribbean, they found the average CRUISING sailboat spend an average of $1500 per month. this did not include the cost of the boat.. just the operation and usual costs of cruising. Since it would take about 3 YEARS to sail around the world that ALONE would be a cost of $54,000.. then you would need a BLUE WATER CRUISER.. and THAT will cost you at least $100,000.. so you would need a MINIMUM of $150,000 and THAT IS CONSERVATIVE.
You won’t really be sailing around the world.. you are just another of those WALTER MIDDY types who dream about sailing around the world and never get off their couch and away from their computer… so I am not going to waste any more time on you.. it’s YOUR DELUSION.. not MINE
